Where every day is a good day to learn something new

Bumblebees

Hello Bumblebees,

Hope you are all safe in the snowy and icy conditions - keep safe!

Have a go at these activities I have set for you;

Maths

  • Measuring in cm and mm

Click the link below and have a go at this interactive activity practising measuring accurately with a ruler. I want you to have a go at level 1 and level 2.

Literacy

  • Vocabulary

We have been looking at the story 'Once Upon a Snowstorm'. Think about what we have learnt so far and write down what you think will happen in this story. Be ready to share this with the class when we come back together.

STEM

  • To build a free-standing structure.

Have a look for some recycling around the house that is finished with and can be re-used or just use some LEGO (if you have some available) - you choose what you use. Can you build a tall, free-standing structure successfully? It could be a skyscraper or maybe another famous structure you would like to recreate. Don't forget to measure it and use those measuring skills to see how tall you made it!

Have fun!

Croeso i ddosbarth 3! Welcome to year 3!

We are very much looking forward to an exciting, happy and successful year ahead!

Below is some information about our class that you might find really useful.

  • PE and Forest School Day – every Monday

Please send the children to school dressed ready in appropriate clothing and suitable footwear.

  • Uniform is very important.

Please send your child to school in the appropriate uniform – red cardigan/jumper, white polo t-shirt, black shoes or trainers. We understand the need to keep costs down, so uniform can be purchased from supermarkets such as Tesco or Asda and does not need to have the school logo.

  • School timings have changed.

Children must be in school before 9am, so they are ready to start their day at 9am promptly. The school day ends at 3:10pm.

  • School snack has returned.

If you would like your child to be provided with a piece of fruit in school, then please send in £1 each week in a labelled envelope. This is optional. Your child can bring in their own fruit if they would rather.

  • Water bottles.

Please make sure your child brings in a water bottle daily. I must emphasise that it has to be water and not squash or any other drink.

  • Labelled items.

Please make sure your child’s clothing is clearly labelled with their name, as well as their bottles and snack. We really don’t want any of your child’s belongings to go missing!

  • Homework – Monday to Monday

Every Monday you child will bring home a reading book and one other piece of work. One week it will be Literacy (spellings, handwriting etc…) other weeks it will be Maths. These both must be returned the following Monday so reading books can be changed and new homework sent home.

  • Communication

Messages will be sent out either via Teachers2Parents or Dojo, please check regularly.
