  • Fete update

    Wed 29 Jun 2022

Due to health and safety reasons relating to the poor weather forecast for the next 48 hours, we have made the difficult decision to postpone the school fete until July 15th - sorry for any inconvenience. We are looking forward to seeing you all on the 15th, thank you for your understanding in this matter.  If you are able to help on the new date - please contact school, we would love to welcome you.

Please come to the red gates off Cardiff Road to enter school and then into the Environmental Area for our races. All the children in the school have been put into houses (Red - Ty Dar, Blue - Ty Cynon, Green - Ty Taf, Yellow - Ty Aman) and if possible we would ask them to please wear a t-shirt in the colour of their house. Texts will be sent to all parents to share which house your child is in. If you have any questions please speak to your child's teacher.

  • Year 6 Transition Day at ACS

    Wed 22 Jun 2022

Hello, we have been informed that as parents of Year 6 pupils you have all received an email from ACS regarding the transition day next week - Thursday 30th June.

The children do not need to come into Blaengwawr before going to their transition day. They will all have their attendance mark for that day automatically if they go to ACS. Primary school staff do not attend the transition day with the children as ACS staff run all the activities.

As parents you need to get the children there for 9.30am and collect them at 2.30pm. They will be doing some taster lessons and one of these will include PE so it is recommended that they wear shorts, a t-shirt and trainers. All the children from schools in Aberdare who are attending have been assigned a colour group so ACS have requested that if possible, could your child please wear an item of clothing in that colour. All the children were told their colour group yesterday and we will send a text through to parents to share the information as well.

The children will need to bring a packed lunch (if your child is entitled to a free school meal this will be provided by ACS). If you have any additional queries please do give ACS a call on 01685 888500.
