    * From September 2023 (next autumn term) those pupils born between 1.04.19 - 31.08.19

From APRIL 2023 (summer term) all our Year 2 pupils will be entitled to a free school meal. Parents do not need to fill in any form just request their child has dinners to the class teacher.

From SEPTEMBER 2023 (autumn term next year) all our Year 3 & Year 4 pupils will be entitled to a free school meal. Parents do not need to fill in any form just request their child has dinners to the class teacher.

From APRIL 2024 (summer term 2024) all our Year 5 & Year 6 pupils will be entitled to a free school meal. Parents do not need to fill in any form just request their child has dinners to the class teacher.

  • Next Week - 14th November

    Sat 12 Nov 2022

Hello everyone, we have a couple of special event days next week starting with Odd Sock Day on Monday 14th November. Please can the children wear school uniform AND ODD SOCKS! This is the start of our work for Anti-bullying week where we celebrate our uniqueness and what makes us all special and individual, represented by odd socks.

On Friday 18th November it is Pudsey Day/BBC Children in Need and children can wear their pyjamas or something spotty/pudsey related or their own clothes. Please don't feel the need to go to any expense with what they wear. We will be taking donations for the work of BBC Children in Need but there is no obligation to do so, please only donate if you feel able to. Thank you

  • Harvest Festival

    Wed 09 Nov 2022

Hello #teamblaengwawr, the children have been practising their songs and performances ready for you to join us tomorrow at our Harvest Festival. It will start at 2pm at Saron Chapel in Lewis Street, Aberaman (see the picture below). If you're not sure where to go please do feel free to join us as we walk from school over there at approx 1.40pm.

We are inviting parents/family members to sit upstairs in the gallery. There will be a member of staff to guide you to the best seat so you can see your child performing. You will be able to take your child home at the end of the service and any remaining children will be brought back to school to be dismissed in the usual way.

Year 2 have forest school on a Thursday morning and we would like them to take part in this. Please can you send them in their forest school clothes, with their school uniform in their bag. They can then change into their uniform in school at the end of their morning session so they will be ready for the afternoon.

Unfortunately Year 4 will not have their forest school session in the afternoon, so please wear full school uniform as normal.

    Many thanks, Mrs Poole

    Dear Parent/Carer

  • Whole School Trip to Aberavon Beach - 19.07.22

    Mon 18 Jul 2022

Hello #teamblaengwawr we will be going ahead with our whole school trip to Aberavon Beach tomorrow - Tuesday 19th July.

We will be asking all parents to ensure that the children are wearing loose, beach appropriate clothing (shoulders covered) - have sun screen applied (and this can also be sent in with them for more to be applied as needed), wearing a sun hat and have plenty of drinks as we can not refill water bottles at the beach.

Buses will be leaving school at approx 9.20am and 9.30am and any accompanying adults can remain in the school yard once they have dropped their children off. Buses will be leaving the beach to return to school no later than 1.40pm (*as they need to be back for the comprehensive school runs).

When we are down at the beach we may bring the children back to school sooner if needed, but this is only if due to adverse weather conditions.

If you are not accompanying your child please send a spare set of clothes (shorts and t-shirt) and small towel in case they need to change as staff will be supervising some paddling in the sea.

We will not be taking unaccompanied children to the shops so please don't send any money. All children must bring a packed lunch to school tomorrow and plenty of drinks please - please ensure some of these are in bottles so they can use throughout the day. If your child is eligible for free school meals they will have a packed lunch provided by the school, however you may want to include extra drinks in a bag for them as they will only have one bottle of water. Thank you
