  • Annual Report to Parents from Governing Body for 2023-24

    Fri 11 Oct 2024

Please see below the full Annual Governors Report to Parents.

In line with the School Standards and Organisation (Wales) Act 2013, please see below the guidelines in relation to holding meetings to discuss the report.

If parents want to request a meeting with governors a petition must be received, containing the signatures of 10% of the parents of registered pupils at the school or the signature of 30 parents of registered pupils at the school (whichever is the lower number). The meeting must be held within 25 days of the petition being received but can only be held if there are sufficient days remaining in the school year to accommodate it.

Parents are reminded that this meeting will only be held to discuss a matter relating to the school, not a matter that is personal to an individual group.

If you would like to request a meeting, in line with above requirements, please contact Jill Williams, Clerk to the Governing Body via e-mail Jill.Williams@rctcbc.gov.uk or letter via the school office.

  • Message from RCT for all parents/carers regarding breakfast club in summer term

    Fri 22 Mar 2024

    Dear Parents/Carers,

As you will be aware, the Council had planned to introduce a charge for the childcare provided in advance of free breakfast clubs. These proposed charges did not include learners eligible for free school meals, and free breakfast clubs would continue to be offered.

Whilst the implementation date for these changes was intended to be the summer term 2024, plans have been temporarily paused. The breakfast club provision in your school will remain unchanged for now and will continue to be delivered as normal.

Further information will follow next term.

  • Advice for families & reminder to have regular checks on your child's hair for headlice

    Thu 23 Nov 2023

Hello #teamblaengwawr, we have been made aware that there are a few cases of headlice across the school and we want to keep you all informed.

Whilst headlice are nothing more than a nuisance, it is important to check your child's hair regularly so they can be dealt with quickly before they spread.

Please can we ask all families to check their children's heads today and continue to do so at regular intervals.

    Some advice that may help:
*Check your child's hair at least once a week.
*Use a proper headlice detection comb (with teeth no more than 0.3mm apart). These combs are usually white in colour so headlice can be seen and are available from pharmacies or supermarkets.
*If you find headlice please check all family members and treat with necessary treatments you can purchase from the pharmacy or supermarket.

Further advice on treatment of headlice can be found on the following link:
    https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/head-lice-and-nits/

Thank you all for your co-operation and support with this. Mrs Poole
